I have been an educator for over ten years and love what I do! I was born and raised in New York and taught third grade there for several years before relocating to Virginia Beach in 2004. Here, I spent several years working for Virginia Beach City Public Schools as a Computer Resource Specialist. I currently work as an Instructional Technology Specialist in Charlotte, NC. I strive to support teachers as they move from traditional teaching practices to the project based approach with technology integration.

I’m a mom of two and enjoy biking, dancing and playing with gadgets. 😉

I’m also a sucker for good quotes…

“Well-behaved women rarely make history.” – Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

“Be nice to people on your way up because you’ll need them on your way down.” -Wilson Mizner

“It is better to err on the side of daring than the side of caution.” — Alvin Toffler

I enjoy reading your blog and tweets. I’ve been a 5th grade teacher in Wake Co. NC and will be stepping into a new role as the Technology Coach for my school this year. Your words are inspirational and I look forward to applying some of the information you’ve shared this year.

    • Hi, Sean! Congrats on the new job! What types of things will you be doing as a technology coach? We can learn together!

Thank you very much. I’m honored to take on the new tasks. My primary responsibilities are supporting the technology needs of the teachers, delivering some professional development training, and any other chores that need to be attended to. I’m excited help the teachers use some of the great tech and apps available. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for your kind words. Have a great day.

  3. Jenny – like your tech enthusiasm! At ByronAcademy.org we have guest speakers present a technology topic each Tuesday. Perhaps you would be willing to be one of our guests? The topics are presented online, so you could do it from anywhere. Shoot me an email – rduques@byronacademy.org
